Anthony Zack

Anthony “Tony” Zack, age 75, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025. He was a devoted spouse, parent, and grandparent. Anthony is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his son Conrad (Sarah) Zack of Crystal Lake, IL; his son Simon Zack of Rio Rancho, NM; his two grandchildren Viviana and Ezra; and his three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He was born in Szczecin, Poland and came to the U.S. (Chicago) in the late 70s, where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Michalak. They were married on September 15, 1979, in Chicago and then went on to have two sons. He moved his family to New Mexico in the late 80s where he lived for almost 30 years. Eventually he and Elizabeth moved back to Belvidere in 2019 to be with their grandkids.

Anthony’s love for New Mexico and the Southwest was widely known throughout his family. The New Mexican culture greatly influenced both his life and woodworking projects. He loved everything the desert Southwest had to offer, especially the abundance of sunshine.
