Arlene Courtney

Arlene Dolores Courtney, 79, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 24, 1942 in Monongahela, PA to the late James Marion and Dolores Bertha (Luxbacher) Bane. She married Robert F. Courtney on December 31, 1992 in Belvidere, IL. Arlene was a member at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere and was very involved with Catholic Council of Women, Legion of Mary, CCD and 50 plus. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her sons, Daniel (Kathie) Runyan, Jeffrey (Kate) Runyan; grandchildren, Kyle Runyan, Kelsey (Joey) Close, Kristin Runyan, Kara Runyan, Renee (Austin) Pendry, Matthew Runyan; great grandchild, Kathryn; brothers, James M. (Toni) Bane, Michael L. (Brenda) Bane; sisters, Mary A. (David) Lancaste, Teresa E. (Phil) Cummings. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dolores; beloved husband, Robert; brother, Patrick F. Bane. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL on Friday, January 14, 2022. Interment in Belvidere Cemetery at a later date. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
