Barbara J. Robertson, 82, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 12, 2025 . Barbara was born February 19, 1943, in West Frankfort, IL the daughter of Bernard and Louise (Mitchell) Ulrich. She married the love of her life, Bill Robertson, on June 23, 1961, in West Frankfort, IL. Barbara worked at Good Luck Glove Company in Carbondale, IL for several years before her and Bill relocated to Belvidere, IL in 1969 for Bill to take a teaching position at Belvidere High School. After relocating to Belvidere, Barbara worked at several places over the years. She worked for First National Bank(now known as PNC), Dr. Carlisle family practice, and finally as a realtor for Dickerson & Nieman Realtors. Being a realtor allowed her to have a flexible schedule, which allowed time to travel but most importantly, it allowed her to spend time with her grandsons and attend their activities. Her grandsons meant the world to her and she was always there cheering them on. Her and Bill traveled to many places over the years, but the most memorable trips were the ones spent with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons. These travels include trips to Disney World, Cocoa Beach in Florida, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, and San Francisco. Many lasting memories were made on these wonderful family trips. Barbara was a member of Beta Signa Phi for many years, serving on several committees over the years and was also a member of Daughter’s of the Nile. Barbara also served on the Belvidere Park Board and as an alderman for the 5th ward for the City of Belvidere. Barbara is loved and missed by her husband Bill; daughter Beth(Rick) Jenks; grandchildren, Bryan(Vonya) Jenks and Kevin Jenks; sister-in-law Karen Swain; brother-in-law Larry Nolen and a niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Louise Ulrich; infant son Bradley Robertson; sister Linda Nolen and infant sister Janice Ulrich; brother-in-law CK Swain; and nephew Matt Swain. The visitation will be Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a service to immediately follow at the Belvidere Funeral Home in Belvidere, IL. Interment at Belvidere Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital of Chicago.
