Bonnie Lynn Pearson, 76, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, December 11, 2024. She was born on August 28, 1948, in Belvidere, IL to Kenneth Richard and Shirley (Mason) Ferguson. She graduated from Belvidere High School and then started working for her aunt Marion Mason, the City Clerk, as a deputy City Clerk. She then went on to be a dispatcher. She married the love of her life, Larry “Pete” Lee Pearson February 16, 1972, in Belvidere, IL. Bonnie retired from the Boone County Sheriffs Department after 41 years as their dedicated dispatcher. Bonnie was a hard worker and would do anything for anyone who needed help. She was a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club and the 911 Training Board. She was an avid reader who finished a book a day. She also enjoyed her crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She is loved and will be missed by her beloved husband of 52 years, Pete Pearson, sons, Andy (Susan) Pearson, Chad (Kellie) Pearson; daughters, Traci Hillhouse, Brenda Tarutis; grandchildren, Justin (Kris) Pearson, Jeremy Pearson, Tate Pearson, Mary “Elle” Pearson, Cormac Pearson, Beckett Pearson, Eva Pearson; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Pearson and great-grandbaby Pearson on the way; brothers, Kenneth R. Ferguson Jr., Jody (Karin) Ferguson; sister, Cheryl (Larry Grayson) Ferguson; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sally Pavlak, and granddaughter, Siena. There will be a visitation Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Interment in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
