Carol May Reininger-Casey

Carol M. Reininger-Casey, age 69 of Belvidere, IL, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. She was born May 7, 1944, the daughter of August and May (Magnhild) Reininger. She was a graduate of Belvidere High School and worked as a child care aid. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. Carol deeply loved her family and friends. She had a passion for crochet and country music. She also loved bingo, blackjack, and other card games. She has always loved children and adored her grandchildren. Carol was a loyal friend. She is survived by her daughter Linda Casey of Rockford; son, James (Rebecca) Casey of Rockford; two grandchildren, Donovan Heidenreich and Mychal Casey; two brothers, Gary Reininger and Terry Reininger; step-mother Pauline Reininger; two step-sisters, Paula Kamman and Kathy Hatfield; and step-brother, Gary Crupper. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Thomas Casey. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Belvidere Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford. A memorial fund has been established.
