Charles “Don” Donald Kinser, 87, of Rockford, IL passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. The son of the late George W. and Lillian Ceclia (Blair) Kinser, he was born on Saturday October 10, 1931 in Crestwood, KY. Charles served his country in The United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Georgia Mitchell, on Saturday, January 8, 1955 in Los Angeles, California. Charles worked as an engineer for Dean Foods for 42 years and retired as Vice President. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. He was also a member of The Knights of Columbus, a Eucharistic Minister, chaplain at Swedish American Hospital, and was on the North Boone School Board. Charles is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Georgia; sons, Richard Lee (Pam) Kinser, David Charles Kinser, Thomas Mitchell (Salena) Kinser; daughters, Debora Ellen (Troy) Stoffregen, Brenda Ann (Steven) Skupien; grandchildren, Amber (Beth) Kinser - Lindahl, Kristofer (Dulce) Kinser, Justin Kinser, Hannah Kinser, Jacob Kinser, Maya Kinser, Brandon (Erin) Stoffregen, Tanner Stoffregen, Somer Stoffregen, Briana Stoffregen, Michael Rinaldi, Mathew Rinaldi, Marissa Rinaldi, Mia Rinaldi; great grandchildren, Miranda, Adelaide, Jaxson, Lucas, Nathan, Joshua; brothers, Dutch (Dot) Kinser, Koss (Mary Jane) Kinser, Johnny (Barbara) Kinser, Bobby (Bonnie) Kinser, Tony (Vickie) Kinser, Larry (Cheryl) Kinser; sisters, Joyce (Donnie) Carpenter, Mary Jane (Tom) Miller; sisters in law, Cathy Kinser, Maxine Kinser; numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, James Kinser; siblings, Vince Kinser, Pat Kinser, Mike Kinser, baby Kinser. There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A rosary will be said at 5:00 P.M. There will be a second visitation on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL with Rev. Ricardo Hernandez officiating. Interment will take place at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name. Condolences may be shared at www.belviderefh.com.
