Colombia Kendell

Maria “Colombia” Bustamante Kendell, 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully in her home June 20, 2023. Colombia was born Feb 15th, 1936, in Risaralda, Colombia, South America. She came to the United States in 1963. In 1967 she met and married her husband of 56 years, Allen Kendell. Colombia loved music, dancing, animals (especially cats), and was devoted to her family. She also loved the four years she coached soccer, in the 1980’s, for the YMCA. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings. She is survived by her husband, Allen Kendell Sr.; son, Allen (Brenda) Kendell Jr.; granddaughter, Jayna Kendell; grandson, Jeffrey Kendell; sister, Sol (Bustamante) Jaramillo; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. also at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A second visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday morning. Interment in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. Memorials can be made to the family in Colombia’s name.
