Cynthia Whisenant

Cynthia (Cindy) S. Whisenant, 72, of Belvidere, IL passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She is the daughter of the late Lester and Mildred (Zimmerer) Yerk. She was born on November 6, 1947 in Belvidere, IL. She married the love of her life on June 5, 1965 at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Cindy ran an in-home daycare for many years where she helped raise many children that she cared for and treated as her own. Her tender and caring heart will be missed by many, especially her numerous nieces and nephews and their children whom she thought the world of. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Billy R. Whisenant; son, Billy (Rebecca) Whisenant; daughter, Leah Kays; grandchildren, Hailey Whisenant, Derrick Whisenant, Wade Kays; great grandson, Mavrick Kays, whom she would do anything for.  She will also be missed greatly by her sister, Candy (Ted) Koelling; brother-in-law, David Guffey; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Sue (Jim) Roberts, Sheridan Yerk, Carolyn Whisenant; her cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mildred Yerk; twin sister, Cheryl (Yerk) Guffey; brother, Gary Yerk; son-in-law, Rich Kays; brother-in-law, Roger Whisenant. Services will be private with interment at a later date in Bakersfield, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the family who have set up a fund to give to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research.
