Diane Marie Zwirblis, 52, of Rockford, IL, passed away in her home on Friday, March 6, 2020 with her husband and family present after a long battle with cancer. She was a Cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt. Diane was born in Rockford, IL on Tuesday, May 30, 1967 to Robert Scofield and Ann Phillips. She graduated from East High School in 1985 and from the American Institute of Commerce in Bettendorf, Iowa in 1987. Diane married her soulmate, Don Zwirblis, on Saturday, November 4, 2000. She loved sunbathing in her pool, was an avid dog lover, always adopting dogs from shelters. Diane and Don also enjoyed road trips, Mexico, and being with family and friends. She was a lifelong blood donor and has donated her body for cancer research. The last several years she worked as administrative assistant at the OSF Cancer Center. The family would especially like to thank her physician, coworkers and all the employees at OSF for their kindness, generosity, and exemplary care. Diane is survived by her mother, Ann Phillips; beloved husband, Don Zwirblis; sister, Betsy Feely; aunt, Mary Scofield; and extended family. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. 203 Logan Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial in Diane’s name for Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue in Rockford, IL and Mending Hearts Rescue in Winnebago, IL.
