Donald Getts

Donald Allen Getts, 95, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Lincolnshire Place Memory Care in Loves Park, IL. He was born on Saturday, April 25, 1925 in Rockford, IL to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Fagerbourg) Getts. Donald married the love of his life, Lorrayne Peterson, on Saturday, September 9, 1950 in Loves Park, IL. In his early years, he owned and operated Northern Foundations Concrete Company and was very proud of that. He also enjoyed aviation, traveling the country with his wife in their motor home, and his dog Misty. Donald is loved and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Joann (Mike) Morrall, Diann (Bill) Niffenegger, Susann Getts; son, Alan (Rebecca) Getts. He was a loving grandfather to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Elizabeth; beloved wife, Lorrayne; daughter, Luann Clucas. There will be a visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice of Rockford, IL.
