Douglas Watson

Douglas Ronald Watson, 53, of Rockford, IL passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was born on Wednesday, March 29, 1967 to Ronald A. and Gloria (Schmidt) Watson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1985 and went on to Lincoln Tech in Denver, CO with his best friend Charlie Snow. He worked for Anderson Nissan as a Master Technician for 27 years before starting Watson Automotive in 2012. His honest reputation grew quickly. He loved spending time at the cabin on Lake Wisconsin. He was always up for mischief and adventure which earned him the nickname “Captain Fireball”. His infectious laughter will be missed and never forgotten. Douglas is loved and will be deeply missed by his parents, Ronald and Gloria; sons, Eric (Savannah) Watson, Brad Watson, Jacob Watson; daughter, Jenna Watson; grandchildren, Tripp and Chase Watson; sister, Lynnell (Mike) Martin; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by Paula Farrey, the love of Doug’s life. There will be a visitation on Monday, June 22, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. The family requests casual attire and Green Bay Packer clothing in Doug’s honor.  A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
