Obituary

Dwight “Ace” Maynard Midkirk, 74, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born on May 23, 1948 to the late Walter and Emma Mae (Paydon) Midkirk. Ace graduated from North Boone High School with the class of 1966 and went on to start a career at Chrysler in Belvidere, IL. He proudly enlisted in The United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Upon returning home he resumed his career at Chrysler, married his high school sweetheart, and started a family. Ace was an avid Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan. Fishing, bowling, and gardening were just a few of his many hobbies. He also enjoyed making and selling picture frames and shadow boxes. Ace is loved and will be deeply missed by his daughters, Bobbi (Daniel) Stewart, Terri Worley; grandchildren, James “JD” Stewart, Holdin (Katie) Worley, Dalton (Jadyn) Worley; great grandchild, Tatum; sisters, Donna (Richard) Warden, Nancy (John) Sawyer; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Interment will take place in Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. Memorials can be made to the family.
