Edward "Eddie" William Smith

Edward “Eddie” William Smith, 65, of Irene, IL passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 11, 1958 in Cherry Valley, IL to Edward W. and Hazel (Wilson) Smith Sr. He married the love of his life, Star Lavelle Mosqueta May 27, 2000 and have been together since 1983. He was an Operating Engineer for Michaels Mining Rock & Stone Company. Eddie was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He enjoyed working hard in the great outdoors and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family around the campfire. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife, Star; children, Chris, Dori, Missy; grandchildren, Tyler, Mahalia, Malik; brother, Doug Smith; sisters, Nancy Johnson, Pattie (David) Finley, Sally (Roger) Rosser; cousin, Jim; beloved dog, Jayke. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Brian Johnson; sister, Lori Ann Heffel. There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Flora Grange in Belvidere, IL. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.belviderefh.com.
