Ernest L. Thornton, 76, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born on May 23, 1945, to the late Ernest and Jennie (Hill) Thornton. Ernest is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved life partner, Marilyn Graves; sons, Eddie Havelaar, Daniel (Nicole) Havelaar, Karl Graves, Kyle Graves; grandchildren, Bryce, Blake, Madison, Lincoln; brother, Clyde Hill; sisters Carol Dupes, Joanne Thornton, Joyce Jackson, Clarice Kieselburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jennie; brothers, William Hill, Donald Hill, Robert Hill; sister Signe Blodgett. There will be a visitation on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. Interment to follow at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
