Etta Paris (Wright) Savage “Granny”, 87, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, surrounded by her family. Etta was born in Monroe, TN on April 17, 1935, to the late Houston and Kellie Worley Wright. Etta married her late husband Doyle Savage on June 9, 1956, in Overton County, TN and they were married for 58 years. Etta enjoyed spending time with her family, eating chocolate, sewing blankets, talking on the phone with her sisters, cheering for the Cubs, and watching her favorite show, Andy Griffith. She loved being a Granny to everyone, giggling at her silly self, and brought joy to every room. Etta is survived by her four children: Patricia (Craig) Schultz, Kim (Keith) Berndt, Alan Savage and Ricky Savage. Etta was blessed with nine grandchildren: Rochelle (Omar), Aubrey (Harley), Lindsay (Josh), Shawn (Kim), Matthew (Alyssa), Cheryl (Ronnie), Bethany (Luis), Kristie (Tony), Amanda (Patrick) and twenty-one great-grandchildren: Rebecca (Preston), Shaylee, Ela, Brieanna, Ayden, Cody, Julian, Madalyn, Olivia, Owen, Riley, Paislee, Lilianah, Alinah, Leila, Aaron, Allison, Finn, Huntlee, Hennlee, and Briar. A special thank you goes out from the family to Kathy & James White and the nursing staff at ProMedica Hospice of Rockford, IL for providing such loving care during Granny’s final months. Etta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doyle, and by 7 of her 10 siblings. A memorial service for Etta will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. at Calvary Chapel of Rockford, IL lead by Pastor Charles Heffelfinger. She will be laid to rest by the family in Livingston, TN next to her husband, Doyle. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
