Evelyn Lake

Evelyn Jane Lake, 94, of Belvidere, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on Tuesday, March 9, 1926 in Barron, WI, the loving daughter of Ole E. and Alma (Tollefson) Peterson. She married the love of her life, Niles Jesse Lake, on January 17, 1944 in Pine County, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, 4 brothers, sister, and grandson, Andrew.

Loving memories of Evelyn will be cherished by her family; 7 children, Florence Ross, Janet (Robert) Bruening, Judy (Roger) Karsten, Linda (Steve) Poustinchian), Tina (Don) Black, Carol (David) Stumpf, Jeff (Julie) Lake; 11 grandchildren, Shari, Candy, Rachel, Jennifer, Erica, Steven, Sarah, Jason, Amy, Bryan, and Abigail; 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Her love of birds, flowers, and bright sunny days bestowed an appreciation for life's simple joys to her entire family.

Due to the difficult and uncertain times we are facing as a community, immediate family members will gather for a private service. A future celebration of Evelyn’s life for extended family and friends, including charitable donations and flowers will be arranged for a later date.
