Floyd Schmidt, 71, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was born on September 1, 1950, in Chicago, IL, to the late Frank and Florence (Dapke) Schmidt. He married Joyce Voegtle on September 1, 2012, in Belvidere, IL. Floyd is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Joyce; sons, Leif (Karen) Jernstad, Eric (Heather) Jernstad; grandchildren, Derrick Jernstad, Amanda Jernstad, Logan Jernstad; sister, Joyce (Ron) Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 13, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
