Helen Raeleen (Persson) Huftalin

Helen Raeleen Huftalin, 96, of Belvidere, IL, went to be with the lord Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by her family at Florence Nursing Home in Marengo, IL. She was born on July 27, 1929, in Belvidere, IL. The daughter of Ray and Elisabeth B. (Howe) Persson. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1947. Helen Married the love of her life, Harvey Huftalin on June 26, 1950, In Belvidere, IL. Helen was a proud member of Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere. She loved her Lord and Savior and reading His Word. Being a farmer’s wife was a true gift. She loved being in the kitchen, making the best dinners and chocolate chip cookies. She even loved washing the dishes! She enjoyed her time being a Tupperware representative and later 27 years working at Farm & Fleet in Belvidere and all the friends she made there. Most of all she loved spending time with family, enjoyed watching grandkids grow up, and seeing all her great grandbabies.  She is loved and will be missed by her loving children, Libby (Gary McCollum) Roth, and Paul Huftalin; grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) Roth, Kelsey (Michael) Bilhmaier, Adam (Sarah) Roth; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Georgia, Everett, Vivian, Kingston, Vera, Harvey, Charlie; sister-in-law, Shirley Persson; Many nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Harvey; brothers, Howard Persson, and Carl Persson. There will be a visitation Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Belvidere, IL. A memorial service will begin at 11:30.
