Jacob Allen Burns, 29, of Toledo, OH, formerly of Belvidere, IL, went to heaven suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2022. Jake grew up in Belvidere, IL attending Immanuel Lutheran and graduating from Belvidere North High School in 2011. He followed in the footsteps of his grandfather Allen and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during his senior year of high school. He served on the USS Eisenhower from 2011 to 2015. He completed two deployments in the Persian Gulf as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Jake was currently employed by the Chrysler Jeep plant in Toledo, OH. Jake will be missed for his witty comments and his unwavering support of everyone in his circle. He was very generous with his time and resources to encourage and be there for his family and friends. He was just as comfortable talking to an elderly lady at his church as he was drinking a beer with his buddy at a bar. He loved snowboarding, cooking, traveling, music, and movies. Our comfort is knowing that he will be spending eternity in heaven. During the Lenten season of 2021, Jacob renewed his relationship with Jesus and served at Pilgrim Church of Toledo, OH. Jake is loved and will be deeply missed by his parents, Kevin, and Shelly Burns; brother, Austin Burns; grandparents, Eleanor Burns, Robert, and Julie Taylor; aunts and uncles, Austin Burns, Bonnie and George Ickstadt, Bill and Sue Meyer, Jeff and Chris Taylor; cousins, Ben and Becca Taylor, Miriam and Jessica Taylor.
