James Gorham

James F. Gorham, 68, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021. He was born October 24, 1952 in Rockford, IL, to Francis Gorham and Darlene (Dummer) Streit. He married his high school sweetheart, Lucinda Jalowy, on July 21, 1973. Jim worked for Chrysler Assembly Plant, retiring in 2008 after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge and Belstone Club. He loved fishing, spending time with family, and playing with his grandsons. Jim is loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, Cindy (Jalowy) Gorham; children, Tanya (Brad) Surdick, James (Jeni) Gorham; grandsons, Kai and Dex Surdick; mother, Darlene Streit; step-mother, Geri Gorham; sisters, Judy Lamping, Cindy (Bill) Hathaway; nephews, Zach (Dena) Lamping, Tyler (Samantha) Hathaway; nieces, Dena Gates, Kaelyn Hathaway; great nieces and nephews, Aaron (Alexis) Lamping, Alyssa Lamping, Connor and Andrew Gates. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Gorham; step-father, Donald Streit; brother-in-law, Gary Lamping. Private family services will be held to honor Jim's life.
