James Harry Jablonski

James Harry Jablonski, 84, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023. He was born December 31, 1938, in Chicago, IL. The son of the late Larry and Grace (Panek) Jablonski. He married the love of his life, Joyce Agnes Raczka October 14, 1961, at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. James was the Valedictorian of his class and enjoyed 3 years at the University of Chicago studying chemistry. He was one of the founders and President of the school board at St. Veronica Parish. In his spare time, he was an avid reader, gardener and cook. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Joyce; children, David (Debra) Jablonski, Lynda Splinter, Julie (Chester) Herbert; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jaclyn, and Joey Splinter and Cori (Kaitlyn) Herbert, William, and Sarah Herbert; brothers, Harry (Kathy) Handzlik, Thomas Handzlik; sister, Patricia Listermann; and many beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and baby sister, Jean. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 9:00 to 11:30 at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Inurnment in Belvidere Cemetery at a later date. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.belviderefh.com.
