James Kieser

James “Jimmy” Kieser, 89, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, March 1, 2025, at UW Health Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born August 23, 1935, in Marengo, IL. The son of William W. F. and Lillian Marie (Beland) Kieser. Jimmy served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Jimmy married the love of his life, Betty JoAnn (Houston) Weeks September 25, 1982, at First Baptist Church in Belvidere, IL. He retired as a cement finisher for Belvidere Construction after 41+ years. He was a proud member of the Belvidere VFW Post 1461 Honor guard for over 35 years. He was a member of the VFW in Belvidere along with the American Legion. He loved to drive around in his 1982 Cadillac stopping at coffee shops and checking the new concrete work in town. Jimmy also loved to dance and spend time with his family. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife of 42 years, Betty; daughters, Debi (Ernie) Pedroza, Sue Ann (Reid) Bullard, Lori Pippel (Nate); stepdaughters, Michelle (Bruce), Melanie; grandchildren, Stacy, Shauna, Nikki, Zachary, Dalton, Rennie, Chandler, Ethan, Brianna, Noah Biggers, Grace Biggers; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel (Bonnie) Kieser. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William, Albert, Robert, Richard, Joseph, Ralph, David; sisters, Margaret Fischer, Lenora Horenberger, Laura Mae Reed. There will be a visitation Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M.
