James Rocco "Rocky” Guzzaldo, 94, of Downers Grove, IL passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born on October 28, 1928, in Chicago, IL to the late James and Mildred (Pavese) Guzzaldo. He married the love of his life, Geraldine Prisco, on September 26, 1953, in Chicago, IL. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Rocky was an amazing individual who worked as many as 3 jobs at a time to provide for his family. He was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame fan. He was a parishioner at Divine Savior Catholic Church and devoted much of his time in Men’s Club since 1968. He also enjoyed serving as an usher and hosting special events especially pancake breakfasts. Rocky volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital for heart health as he felt strongly for the cause being a survivor himself. Known as “Grandpa Rocky” he worked nearly to the age of 90 in the Downers Grove School District as a school bus aid. Rocky had an infectious smile and was respected by all that knew him. He had a very special friend named Char, who was a bright light in his golden years, and the family would like to extend a deep heartfelt thank you. Rocky is loved and will be deeply missed by his sons, Mark (Cookie) Guzzaldo, Jamie (Nancy) Guzzaldo; daughter, Gina Marie (Don Kingsmill) Guzzaldo Woldman; grandchildren, Dana (Brandon) Jensen, Sarah Guzzaldo, Bradley (Nina Ramdat) Woldman, Brent James Woldman, Brenden Woldman, Rowan Guzzaldo; great grandson, Landon William Jensen; dear and special friend, Charmaine Gregory; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred; beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Gerry; brother, Anthony Guzzaldo; sister, Josephine Natiello. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Divine Savior Catholic Church in Downers Grove, IL. Entombment will take place at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums in Hillside, IL. Memorials can be made to the family in Rocky’s name to be used for his favorite charities.
