Janet Mary Colbath

Janet Mary Colbath, 85, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024. She was born on October 2, 1938, in Chicago, IL. The daughter of Robert Terry and Dorothy Mary (Bird) Cowperthwaite. Janet married Mike Mar Guzman, in 1954 in Chicago, IL. She then married Jack Colbath in 1983 also in Chicago, IL. Janet enjoyed roller skating, camping, and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is loved and will be missed by her children, Fred (Jane) Mar, Annette (Tommy) Glagow, and Richard (Elizabeth) Mar; grandchildren, Sheila, Amy, Nicole, Katie, Christopher, Scottie, Kathleen, Timothy, Brittany, Jacob, Victoria, and Matthew; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Chuck; sister, Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Mike Mar Guzman; children, Michael Mar, Dorothy Donahue; second husband, Jack Colbath; granddaughter, Jennifer. There will be a visitation Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.  at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation service in Belvidere, IL. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 P.M.
