Janice Kay Hugdahl-Fiedler, 63, of Rockford, IL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 15, 2022. Jan was born on December 13, 1958, in Rice Lake, WI, to the late John “Jack” Hugdahl and Norma (Hugdahl) Gundersen. Jan graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford, IL, where she was the only freshman cheerleader who could do a roundoff into the splits. She worked at The Sleep Inn Hotel of Rockford, IL where she was adored by the owners and guests. Jan enjoyed reading, thrift shopping, decorating, and spending time with her family. She attended Sunday church with her mom, brother, and sister-in-law, had bi-weekly brunches with her mom and daughters, and often had to get off the phone with one daughter to answer the other one’s call. Jan was the type of “flana,” “amah,” and “grandmie” that couldn’t say no, and her grandchildren knew it. She cherished her friendships so deeply that most of them lasted a lifetime. Jan is loved and will be deeply missed by her mother, Norma Gundersen; daughters, Cassandra, Megan, Hannah, and Dana; eight grandchildren; sister, Faith (Sam) Clay; brothers, Dave (Beth) Hugdahl, Doug (Connie) Hugdahl. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack; step-father, Tom; son, Matthew. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL, at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 A.M.
