Jeffery Scott Spate

Jeffery Scott Spate, 63, Cherry Valley, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at his home. He was born November 2, 1960, in Belvidere, IL to John Gordon “Gordy” and Judith “Judi” (Kingren) Spate. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1979. He was a Union Capenter and was very good at it. He was a skilled woodworker and a true artist. He was proud of the cedar strip canoe that he made by hand. He was a member of the Belvidere Free Mason’s and the Coon Creek Casters. Jeffery loved animals and his 2004 Corvette. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  He is loved and will be missed by his beloved Mother, Judi Spate; beloved Sister, Julie (Jeff) Main; Children, Caleb Spate, Carley (Chris) Rapp, Jacie (Kevin Essig) Spate, Jamie (Jack) Stefanski; Grandchildren, Bentley Spate, Emmett Rapp, Taytum Rapp, Baby Stefanski on the way; Nephew, Adam Main; Niece Lindsay (Tyler) Olson, his beloved dog, Ruby. He was preceded in death by his father, John Gordon “Gordy” Spate, and his grandparents. There will be a celebration of life Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL.
