John Anderson Brooks III, 82, of Belvidere, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Symphony Maple Crest in Belvidere, IL. He was born November 13, 1941, in Spokane, Washington. The son of John A. and Virgina (Atwood) Brooks II. He graduated from Evanston Township High School in Evanston, IL. John retired after 38 years as a Mechanic for Illinois Bell Telephone Company. He also worked at Lowes and Walmart during his retirement. He was always trying to help women, children, and the disabled get their groceries in their car. He was a true gentleman and put his family and friends first. He loved to work on cars and would lend anybody a hand fixing their own. He also enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and putting together model cars. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife, Victoria; son, Timothy (Kimberly) Brooks; stepsons, David Piquett, Ryan Piquett; grandchildren, Abigail (Waden) Delos Santos, Dylan Brooks; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Delos Santos; sister, Susan. He was preceded in death by his parents and children, Johnny, David, and Amy Brooks. Entombment Monday, October 14, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
