Joseph G. Vavra

Joseph G. Vavra ,90 of Cherry Valley passed away Wednesday November 28,2012
at Northwoods Care Centre,Belvidere. He was born September 20,1922 in Burtrum,
Minnesota the son of Frank and Elsie(Kris)Vavra. Graduated from High School in Swanville,Minnesota. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Alexandra "Alice" Kazunas November 27,1948 in Rockford. A Cherry Valley resident since 1953. Joe was a machinist and retired from ELCO Industries after
37 years. A member of V.F.W. John Hugo Kaiser Post#1461,Belvidere. Joe will
greatly miss his friends at the V.F.W. ,who knew him as Cherry Valley Joe.
He is survived by his Son,Keith(Kathy)Vavra,Cherry Valley. Daughter,Karen
(Darrell)Hobby,Rockford. Grandchildren,Kurt(Tina)Vavra,Kyle(Dena)Vavra,
Martin Bielefeldt,Robin Bielefeldt. Great Grandchildren, Audrey & Allison Vavra.
Brother,Harvey(Elizabeth)Vavra,Rockford. Sisters,Clara Vavra,Rockford,Helen
Vavra,Viroqua,Wi. Preceded in death by his parents,Wife,Alice,Brothers,Robert
