Joyce Henderson Lynch

Joyce Elaine Henderson Lynch, 90, of Belvidere, IL passed away at Maple Crest Care Centre on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Daughter of the late Lyman and Helen (Feltz) Lambert, she was born on Saturday, March 22, 1930 in Belvidere, IL. She graduated from Belvidere High School, class of 1948. Joyce married Samuel Stilles Henderson on Friday, September 16, 1949 at First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere, IL. She worked for G.T.E as a telephone operator and played a key role working around the clock during the 1967 Belvidere Tornado. She married William Charles Lynch in June of 1975 at Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton, IL. Joyce had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed gardening and singing with the “The Silver Bells”. Joyce is loved and will be deeply missed by her son, Mark Henderson; cousins, Mary Lou Pundt, Deborah Gross, Daniel Ekman; special friends, Peter Suknaich, Mae Totz, Randy Baxter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Helen; husband, William; cousins, Mary Miller, Bonnie Lee Eckman; special friend, Dorothy Cooper. The family would like to give a special thanks to Maple Crest Care Centre for all of their care and compassion. There will be a private graveside service at Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
