Juliann "Julie" Loos Obituary

Juliann “Julie” Elizabeth Loos, 89, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 6, 1935, in Pinckneyville, IL to the late George F. and Caroline L. (Bruns) Martin. She married Leroy W. Loos January 26, 1957, in Pinckneyville, IL. She graduated in 1956 from St. Johns Hospital School of Nursing, St. Louis. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Highland and St. Joseph Hospitals until she retired in 1994. Julie was a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters and was in charge of making Rosaries for many years. She was a member of the Belvidere Moose Club, and enjoyed dancing, country music, and enjoying friends and family at her pond. Julie was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother. She is loved and will be missed by her children, Mark (Rebecca) Loos, Cynthia (Martin) Anyebuno, Brenda (Mark) Simpson, Gregory (Christine) Loos, Marshall Loos, Laura Ward; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Philip) Goudreau, Kim (Brian) Edwards, Tyler (Tania) Anderson, Grant (Teddy) Anderson; Teresa and Christina Anyebuno; Sean, Ian, Ryan Simpson; Jacquelin (Christopher Harter) Loos, Andrea Loos, Mason Loos, Jennifer (Paul) Meyer, Kathleen and Joshua Ward; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Faulkner, Cris (Lee) Moore, Mary (Douglas) Skort; brother, Bernard (Jane) Martin; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Martin, Martha Loos, Marilyn Webster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Leroy; son, David Loos; granddaughter, Rachel; infant grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lourdes and Lil’ David; son-in-law, Michael Andrew “Andy” Ward; great-grandson, River; siblings, George Jr., Joe, Frank, John, Carolyn, Joann, Cathy, Steve, Tammy; in-laws, Don & Mary Loos, and Wayne Loos. There will be a visitation Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A Rosary will begin at 3:00 P.M. There will be a second visitation Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. also at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL.
