Karla Sheahan

Karla Sheahan, 84, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, in Rockford, IL. She was born on November 17, 1938, in Belvidere, Illinois, and her life was filled with passion, creativity, and love. Karla had a fulfilling career at the Chrysler - Belvidere Assembly Plant. Retiring in 1996 after many great years of service, leaving a legacy of dedication, as well as hard work. Karla’s heart belonged to her beloved husband, Kenneth Sheahan, with whom she shared a delightful 67 years of marriage. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them, a true testament to the power of love, and commitment. Karla had a creative spirit that manifested through her love for crafting and sewing. She poured her talent, and passion into creating beautiful quilts, which she lovingly gifted to both family and friends. Karla was predeceased by her mother Helen Redican and her sisters Cindy Morgan and Donna Labuy. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Kenneth Sheahan; daughters, Kim (Doug) Swedlund, Kelly Wharton; son, David Sheahan; granddaughters, Alexis (Joe) Wyckoff, Roxanne (Joe) Sosnowski; grandson, Joshua Sheahan; great grandchildren, Aidan, Roman, and Elle Sosnowski; sisters, Cheryl (Jim) Fassett, Sandra (Tom) Meyers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who were blessed to be a part of her life. As we gather to honor Karla’s memory, let us remember her as a talented and devoted woman whose creativity and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. May her legacy of love and artistic expression continues to inspire us for years to come. The memorial service to celebrate Karla’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. In this time of grief, may we find solace in the loving memories we shared with Karla, and may her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
