Kathleen Cole

Kathleen “Kay” H. Cole, 95, of Belvidere, IL went to be with the Lord on August 31, 2023. She was born November 22, 1927, in Gilman, WI, to the late Henry and Catherine (Eggerth) Morarend. She attended Gilman, WI schools and married Eugene Cole on Sept. 16, 1946, in Stanley, WI. They lived in the Gilman area until moving to Belvidere in 1952. Kay worked at the National Sewing Machine Company for a time when they moved here. She was an active member of Saint James Catholic Church, and the Catholic Daughters, receiving an award in 2014 for Woman of the Year for her Outstanding Christian Service. Kathleen was also very active with both the Boy & Girl Scout Troops at St. James School. Kathleen loved spending time outside in her flower gardens and listening to the birds sing. Her little grand dog Jazzy will miss the time they always spent together out there. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Willett, Deborah M. Cole, Lisa (Jeff) Jordan; grandchildren, Chad Prather, Robert (Jenny) Prather, Jerry (Becca) Ziriaxe, Joey Ziriaxe, Matt Lewis, Daniel Cole, Crystal Phipps, Amanda & Ryan Farrey, Jenna & Jacob Watson; numerous great and great great grandchildren; grand dog and little buddy, Jazzy. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Eugene; children, Robert Cole, David Cole, Paula Farrey; sisters, Iolene, Violet, Janice; brother; Harvey. There will be a Catholic Funeral Service on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment in Highland Garden of Memories. Memorials can be made to the family in Kathleen’s name.
