Maria Guadalupe Cortes

Maria Guadalupe Cortes, 39 of Rockford, IL passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, at her home. She was born Monday, August 23, 1982, in Tinaja De Pastores, Guanajuato, Mexico. The daughter of Miguel and Delia (Medina) Cortes. She graduated from Belvidere High School then got her associates degree in nursing. She worked at OSF Saint Anthony medical Center for 8 Years. Maria was a great cook and loved to dance and listen to music. She also liked to garden and collect Michael cores purses. She was a die-hard bears fan and most of all a wonderful mother. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Isidro Barrios Jr., sons, Isidro Barrios Jr., Adan Jose C. Barrios, Miguel Angel C. Barrios; parents, Miguel and Delia Cortes; grandmother, Esperanza Cortes; brothers, Miguel (Rebecca) Cortes Jr., and Valentin (Emily) Cortes; mother and father in-law, Isidro and Melanie Barrios; niece, Aviana Cortes; nephew, Marshal Cortes; many friends; her beloved dog, Brutis. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jose and Rita Medina, and Marshal Cortes. There will be a visitation Friday, August 19, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. There will be a second visitation from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the funeral home. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:30 A.M. At St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. James Catholic Church.
