Marilyn Ann Graves, 72, of Belvidere, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born December 4, 1952, in Malta, IL. The daughter of Carl C. and Amber E. (Roguski) Sorensen Sr., the family later moved to Belvidere, IL where she graduated from Belvidere High School. She was a team leader for Pactiv (formerly Champion Packaging), where she was known by colleagues for her sense of humor and mischievous behavior. Marilyn loved playing Farmville 2, watching soap operas, reading, following the Chicago Cubs and Bears, daily visits/calls from close friends and most of all, her beloved sons and extended family. She is loved and will be missed by her sons, Eddie Havelaar, Danny (Nicole) Havelaar, Kyle Graves, and Karl Graves; grandchildren, Bryce Heeter, Blake Heeter, Madison Havelaar, and Lincoln Havelaar; great-grandson, Dalton Heeter; siblings, Carl Sorensen Jr., Julie LaLande, Susan (Gary) Bartelli, Kenny Sorensen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and beloved dog, Charlie (who often kept visitors at bay with his protective ways!). She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her life partner of 24 years, Ernie Thornton. There will be a visitation Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A celebration of life will begin at 11:00 A.M.
