Marta Morett

Marta H. Morett, 77, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Symphony Maple Crest in Belvidere, IL. Daughter of the late Euplicio and Marta (Figueroa) Morett, she was born on Tuesday, April 18, 1944, in Naranjito, Puerto Rico. Marta loved to dance and enjoyed dancing to any kind of music. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marta is loved and will be deeply missed by her daughter, Denise (Fernando) Banzhaf; grandchildren, Jonathan (Megan) Banzhaf, Bryan (Kirsten) Banzhaf, Daniel Banzhaf, Christopher (Cheyenne) Banzhaf; great grandchildren, Aviana, Alba, Lila, Thea, Holden, Owen, Anastasia, Eden, Kallyn, Delaney, Teagan, Grayson, Adrian, Tristian; brothers, Louis (Rosie) Morett; sisters, Iris (Roland) Ortiz, Ivette Morett, Janette Morett, Wanda Morett; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Euplicio and Marta; brothers, Albert Morett, Edgar Morett, Wilfred Morett; sister, Carmen Rivera. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, August 16, 2021, at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
