Mary Ann Silvius

Mary Ann Silvius, 101, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at her home. Daughter of the late Homer and Tassia (Dragas) Goomas, she was born on Monday, March 24, 1919 in Rockford, IL. She married the love of her life, John J. Silvius, in July of 1948 in Freeport, IL. She is the matriarch of 5 generations of the Goomas bloodline. Mary is loved and will be missed by her several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Tassia; beloved husband, John; brothers, Jim Goomas, George Goomas, Nick Goomas; sisters, Dorothy Quante, Irene Hunt, Christine Pippel, Connie Slavik. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment will take place in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
