Michael Richard Davis

Michael Richard Davis, 53, of Poplar Grove, IL passed away peacefully on Friday September 20, 2024 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL surrounded by his family. He was born March 29, 1971 in Belvidere, IL to Richard and Joyce (Emanuel) Davis. Michael graduated from Belvidere High School in 1990. He married Kelly (Nelson) Davis, the love of his life, on November 4, 1995. Michael worked for DFA (Dean Foods) for 32 years. Michael was the definition of a perfect girl dad to Madison (Davis) Morrissey, being her biggest fan and cheerleader for countless years on the court. He enjoyed his free time after work and on the weekends at a golf course. He was an avid college football fan, specifically cheering on Florida State. Michael was a collector of shoes, baseball cards, and fine bourbon. He loved spending time with family and friends and was always the life of every party and gathering. Michael had the unique ability to make friends with anyone, and no one was ever a stranger to him.

Michael is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kelly, daughter Madison (Andrew) Morrissey, parents Richard and Joyce Davis, brother Jeff (Michelle) Davis, sister Melissa (Todd) Weaver, nephews Tyler and Johnathan, and niece Hannah, as well as his mother-in-law Janet Nelson. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, uncle, and father-in-law. Michael will be deeply missed by numerous close friends and will leave a large void in all of our hearts.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the OSF Cancer Center team as well as all the doctors and nurses at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center-Rockford.

There will be a visitation Saturday September 28, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008 from 9 AM to 1 PM, followed by a service at 1 PM.
