Nancy L. Moss, 87, of Rockford, IL, passed away, peacefully, at her home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Galena, IL, daughter of Ernest F. and Ethel E. (Bartell) Arand. She graduated from Belvidere High School and married the love of her life, Darryl L. Moss, on April 3, 1958 in Belvidere, IL. She retired as Executive Director of United Way of Boone County after 36 years. Nancy enjoyed reading, dancing, televised sports, attending concerts and family vacations. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. Nancy was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Belvidere since 1949, a long-time member of Zonta Club of Belvidere and Farmerettes-U of I Extension Boone County. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Darryl; children, Teresa Carter, Michael (Jacki) Moss, Stacey Osborne and Steven (Joan) Moss; grandchildren, Erik, Nathan (Aleesha) and Shane Torres, Jade Moss, Haleigh Moss (Joe Swon), Grace Moss (Luke Miles), Faith Moss, Tiffany Okes and Kristen Osborne; great grandchildren, Ellen Torres, Dax Harms-Torres, Emerie and Adelynn Moss, Logan Okes, Parker Goodman and Emma and Savannah Cumbie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest F. and Ethel E. (Bartell) Arand, sister, Donna (Kenneth) Luckow and brothers, John, Gerald (Shirley), Harold, and James Arand. There will be a private family service with burial at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. Memorials can be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Belvidere.
