Paul Kirane

Paul Michael Kirane, 88 of Belvidere, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at his home. He was born on May 21, 1933 in Belvidere, IL to the late James and Mary (King) Kirane. Paul attended Belvidere High School and graduated with the class of 1951 and went on to proudly serve his country in The United State Marine Corp from 1953 to 1956. He married the love of his life, Ruth Wendricks, on February 2, 1957, in Belvidere, IL. Paul was a lifelong resident of Belvidere. He worked for ComEd for many years until his retirement. He was a County Line Grange Member, and a Boone County Fair Board Member. Paul is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Ruth; son, Patrick (Lisa) Kirane; daughters, Rebecca Zurfluh, Debbie (Greg) Anderson, Karen (Scott) Smiley; grandchildren, Mitch (Trina) Anderson, Curt Anderson, Jessica (Carlos Popa) Anderson, Elaine (Josh) Moye, Jacob (Kalina Gordley) Smiley, Rachel (Josh) Cisco, Julia (Mike Potthast) Zurfluh; 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary; brother, Jim Kirane; sisters, Margaret Baldon, Jo Miles, Rita Francis Key. Services will be private. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amy and Eve for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to OSF Hospice.
