Raymond Eugene Steffens

Raymond Eugene Steffens, 84, of Poplar Grove, IL passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Ascension Living Nazarethville Place in Des Plaines, IL. He was born November 5, 1937, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Andrew John and Elizabeth (Wieczorek) Steffens. He graduated from Weber High School in Chicago, IL, and then Ray served our country in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life, Joanne Mrozinski June 19, 1971, in Evanston, IL. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Schorr; brothers, John Andrew (Marge) Steffens, Robert Leonard (Carol Marie) Steffens. He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Joanne. There will be a funeral service Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Interment in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Huntley, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Shriners Hospitals for Children. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.belviderefh.com.
