Richard Rudsinski Obituary

Richard Raymond Rudsinski, 73, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He battled numerous health issues for the last 3 weeks of his life. Richard was born on September 25, 1948 in Elgin, IL, to the late Raymond and Elfrieda (Roeske) Rudsinski. He was a 1966 graduate of Marengo Community High School and majored in education at Illinois State University. He married the love of his life, Karen McDonnell, on August 30, 1969. He developed a love of farming, growing up on his family’s farm in Union, IL. After his tour of duty with the Army he returned to farming until his retirement. Dick and Karen moved to Belvidere in 1995. He became an active member of American Legion Post 77, whose members provided Richard and Karen with companionship, and community for many years. Richard was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He dedicated many summers to coaching Little League Baseball Teams in Marengo. Richard was a devoted father. He is loved, and will be deeply missed by his sons, Toby Rudsinki, Tory Rudsinki; daughter, Tara (Aaron) McConkey; grandchildren, Declan McConkey, Madison Rudsinski, Lilly Rudsinski; sisters, Connie (William) Pigati, Sally (Dale) Pelg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elfrieda; beloved wife, Karen. There will be a Celebration of life on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at The American Legion Post 77 at , 900 W. Chrysler Dr. in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the V-Foundation's Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund.
