Robert James Cooke

Robert James Cooke, 78, of Polar Grove, IL passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. The son of the late Robert J. and Isabel (Klautch) Cooke, he was born on Tuesday, August 27, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Robert married the love of his life, Patricia Biedzinski on Wednesday, March 19, 1969 in Chicago, IL. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters for many years. Robert is loved and will be missed by his sons, Thomas (Nadine) Konieczny, Robert (Sharon) Cooke, John (Tamara) Konieczny, Jim Cooke, Vincent (Connie) Cooke; daughters, Michele (Andy) Bodick, Kerrie Cekus; grandchildren, Tommy Konieczny, Elissa (Michael) Emmert, Kevin Cooke, Caroline Cooke, Jonathon Konieczny, Jenny Konieczny, Kristie (Eric) Ottenschot, Raymond Cekus, Nicholas Owen, Alexandra (Nicholas) Benhart, Crystal Bodick, Gunnar Cooke, Alexandra Cooke, Griffin Cooke; great grandchildren, Spencer, Jensen, Levi, Nicholas; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Patricia; sister, Mary (Louie) Berti; step father, Gil Olander. There will be a visitation on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere, IL. There will be a second visitation on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. also at Highland Garden of Memories. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ervin Pio M. Caliente officiating. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
