Robert Gunsteen

Robert James Gunsteen, 65, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home. He was born on Saturday, March 19, 1955 in Elmhurst, IL to the late Clarence and Catherine (Noonan) Gunsteen. He married the love of his life, Darlene Sullivan, on Friday, October 4, 1985 in Wheaton, IL. Bob loved spending time with his family. He loved to take his sons and grandsons fishing on his boat. He taught his boys how to hunt at a young age and his tradition will live on through them. He loved attending sporting events to watch all of his grandchildren. Bob was an extraordinary man that will be missed dearly. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Malaker and the entire OSF Healthcare Staff. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; sons, Robert “Bobby” (Danielle) Gunsteen, William “Billy” Gunsteen; daughters, Kelly (Robert) Hritz, Lisa Teunissen; grandchildren, Brianna, Robert, Brayden, Ali, Bryson, Stassi; brother, Brian (Marilyn) Gunsteen; sister, Donna (Lou) Cabo; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Catherine; sisters, Kathy Mitchell, Sharon Woloszyk; nephew, Christopher Kline. Services will be private. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
