Robert Nordman

Robert Wayne Nordman, 90, of Belvidere, IL passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at his home. He was born on July 24, 1931, in Oregon, IL to the late Fred and Ruth (Stroud) Nordman. He proudly served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert married the love of his life, Shirley Fidder, on February 11, 1956, in Belvidere, IL. He was a farmer, worked at General Mills, and Farm and Fleet. He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1461 and Boone County Farm Bureau. Robert is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Shirley; children, Connie (Dennis) Wilkins, Carol (Roman) Garcia, Cheryl (Tom) Wennmacher, Cindy (Craig) Wilcox, David (Sue) Nordman; son-in-law, Dan Flynn; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Jack Nordman; sister, Ruth Ann (Harold) Behling; brother-in-law, Don Ackerman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth; daughter, Cathy Flynn; brothers, Donald Nordman, Fred Nordman; sister, Lynn Ackerman. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Robert and his family would like to extend their gratitude to Transitions Hospice and their staff for their compassionate care. A memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
