Robert Gordon Prouty

Robert Gordon Prouty, 81, of Belvidere, IL passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL. He was born July 13, 1942, in Chicago, IL to Ira C. and Dorothy (Colby) Prouty. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School and then served our country in the National Guard. Robert married the love of his life, Lana Newton August 16, 1968, in Chicago, IL. He retired as an Insurance Underwriter. He then owned and operated two motels with his wife Lana, one in the U.P. of Michigan and one in Wisconsin. He was an entrepreneur. Bob enjoyed working on computers along with collecting stamps and coins. He always liked to take the scenic route. He is loved and will be missed by his beloved wife, Lana; daughters, Lynn Roller, and Debra (Derek) Daniels; grandchildren, Bobbie Roller, Sara Roller, Cara Daniels; nieces Wendy Prouty Morris, Betsy Thompson, nephew, Richard Prouty. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joan Backoff, brother, Richard Prouty, son-in-law, Keith Roller. There will be a visitation Friday, June 28, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL.
