Robert "Ed" Helfvogt

Robert Edward Helfvogt, 66, of Marengo, IL passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at his home. He was born on Wednesday, October 21, 1953 in Elgin, IL to the late Robert and Delores (Grant) Helfvogt. Ed enjoyed farming, John Deere Tractors, shoeing horses, but most off all being with his family. Ed is survived by his best friend, Joyce; grandson, Gary Edward Helfvogt Jr.; brothers, William (Terry) Helfvogt, Dale (Christine) Helfvogt, Christopher Helfvogt; sisters, Bonnie Zulhlke, Debbie Wheeland; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Delores; son, Gary Edward Helfvogt Sr.; nephew, Douglas Wheeland. There will be a visitation on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A memorial service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Robert R. Kopp officiating. Interment in Belvidere Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the family’s name.
