Ronald Gibbs Obituary

Ronald L. Gibbs, 80, of Belvidere, IL passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Ron was born July 14, 1941, in Belvidere, IL to Donald W. Gibbs and Ruth (Fairgrieve) Schmidt. Ron retired from the Chrysler Assembly Plant in 2003 after 26 years in skilled trades. Ron had a love of classic cars, antiques, and a gift of gab. Although suffering with dementia these past few years, he was still telling stories and trying to make deals up until the day he died. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (Crum); son, Charles (Alicia) Gibbs; daughter, Barb (Jeff) Timm; stepson, Gordy (Aimee) Kasper; grandchildren, Rachel (Ryan), Sydney, Jack, Molly, Payton, Teagan; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald, and Ruth; first wife, Joleta (Jo) Gibbs; brother; Donald Gibbs. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, Illinois. Interment will be private.
