Roseann Nuckles-Coots

Roseann Nuckles-Coots, 85, formerly of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 15, 2025, surrounded by her family and in the loving care of Pam and Walt Stackhouse in Buckley, Washington. She was born July 3, 1939, in Byron, IL, the daughter of Ora Henry and Rose A. (Peterson) Boyer. A proud member of Belvidere High School Class of 1957, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years at several businesses in Belvidere. She cherished the work she did and the friendships formed during her years at United Bank. She was a member of the Belvidere Book Club. Roseann never met a stranger and was a great conversationalist and a worldwide traveler. For the past 40 years Roseann enjoyed spending time at Lake Mills with her family and friends. She is loved and will be missed by her daughters, Teresa Coots, Peggy (Tim) Malone, Pam (Walt) Stackhouse; grandchildren, Rhiannon (Philip) Goudreau, Brian O’Malley, Colin (Haleigh) O’Malley, Casey (Lindell) Serrin, Benjamin (Briel) Zirkle, Joseph (Kimberly) Zirkle; great-grandchildren, Ari, Lux, Miles, Annalise, Kurtis, Cyrus, Sawyer, Lola, Lyra, Brody, Ora Henry; sister, Margaret Lee, the beloved Nuckles family; her great friends, The Class of 1957, and her pet Russian Blue cats: Luna Pearl and Milo Melvin. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Mark R. Coots; first husband, Melvin W. “Sonny” Coots Jr. in 1990; second husband, Dennis R. “Denny” Nuckles in 1999; granddaughter, Rachel A. Loos; siblings, Ruby Reed, Dorothy Evans, Robert Boyer, Mary Mackaben, Verda Mae “Mitti” Ross. There will be a celebration of life Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Boone County Museum of History in Belvidere, IL. Followed by inurnment at the Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the family’s name.
