Ruth Lorraine Felch

Ruth Lorraine Felch, 86, of Rockford, IL, died on July 10, 2025 in Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. She was born on August 25, 1938 to Arthur R. & Dorothy J. (Howe) Carlson and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1957. Ruth married Kenneth George Felch in 1963 in Belvidere, IL. He preceded her in death in September of 1984. She was the bookkeeper for Whilbeck Wheeler Sabien Funeral Home before becoming a bank teller at Farmers National Bank. For 21 years Ruth did medical billing for Rockford Clinic, retiring from University of Illinois College of Medicine after 5 years of service. Ruth became a member of First Presbyterian Church in Belvidere in 1984, was an avid Packers fan and also loved watching college softball and football. Her family, as well as extended family, was very important to her. Survivors include her son, Paul Felch; daughter, Paula Lawson; grandchildren, Brian Lawson, Megan Taylor and Eric Lawson; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia and Kinsleigh; sister, Lois (Gerald) Larson; niece, Bonnie, who formed a close bond with Ruth after her own mom passed; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Pamela Ann Felch; sister, Helen Entwhistle; brother, Ronald Carlson; nephew, Michael Carlson and niece, Rhonda Carlson. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in First Presbyterian Church, 221 N. Main Street, Belvidere, IL with Reverend Bob Kopp officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until 10:00am at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colorectal Cancer Alliance in Ruth’s name.
