Sherrie Lynn Fassett

Sherrie Lynn Fassett, 81, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 24, 1944, in Belvidere, IL to Edward and June. She graduated from Belvidere High School. Sherrie married the love of her life, Larry Fassett December 22, 1966, at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere. She retired after 35 years as a RN making a life out of taking care of others. Sherrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. She found peace after a long battle with cancer. The most important thing to Sherrie was family. It was her life. She is loved and will be missed by her beloved husband of 58 years, Larry Fasset; loving daughters, Dawn (Matt) Frantzen, Beth (Jim) Hansen, April (Ryan) Culvey; grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Alexis, Adam, Blayne, Kayla, Karly, Courtney, James, McKenzie, Brayden, Addie; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; her adored cat, Blueberry. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Tom and Sandra. There will be a visitation Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Belvidere, IL. A funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 P.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere, IL. Interment in Shattucks Grove Cemetery in Belvidere, IL. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in the family’s name. Sherrie built wonderful relationships with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
